Matt grew up in a military home. He heard the Gospel for the first time during a Neighborhood Bible Time during the summer of 1980 at the age of nineteen. Later that week he trusted Jesus as his Savior. The following year he went to NBT again and surrendered his life fully to Christ and was baptized.
Diane was from a broken home and rode the church bus. The Lord burdened her heart for missions and she surrendered in 1984. Diane struggled with assurance of salvation during that time and on April 21, 1985, at the age of twenty she realized her need of salvation and settled the matter. She was baptized the following week
In 1986 Matt joined the U.S. Navy and became a Naval Flight Officer. During his training he met Diane and they were soon married. The Lord has blessed them with four children. While stationed at NAS Jacksonville, FL they attended a Pastors’ conference. At the close of the conference they surrendered to be used of God in missions.
A year later they were transferred to Misawa, Japan, and became actively involved in a military church. Matt answered the call to preach the Gospel. After serving eight years in the Navy, Matt separated from active duty to study at Temple Baptist Seminary. He graduated in 1998 with a Master of Ministry Degree. They joined Baptist International Missions Inc as military missionaries with a burden to reach their own people – military families.
The Olsen's have ministered to U.S. Military families and other English speaking people overseas since February 2001.
In October 2013, Matt accepted the call to be the pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Naples, Italy.
In February 2021, Matt accepted the the call to be the pastor at Trinity Baptist Church.
Brian grew up in a Christian home and was saved at age 8 after calling on the Lord while lying in his bed at home. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible from Pensacola Christian College. Brian leads the congregational singing, teaches an adult Sunday School class, and provides vital leadership while serving on a number of different committees.
Mary Ann grew up in Warner Robins in a Christian family and accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 5. She has been involved in church music ministries since her teen years. She serves at Trinity as church pianist and music coordinator for all of the services.
Brian and Mary Ann met while working at Pensacola Christian College and were married in 1989. They have two sons, Joshua and Andrew.
Skip and Leora Moyer joined Trinity Baptist Church in 1992. Both were saved as children and met after attending Maranatha and Bob Jones University. Their 5 children grew up here and are now living elsewhere tending to their own lives and the eleven grandchildren.
